Church Council Leadership Team.

council2We have a lay leadership team of six people who work with the pastor to oversee the spiritual life and development of the church, the team is currently Graham Frost, Judith Edwards, Paul Treloar, Ron McCaig, Paul McCabe and Tony Smith.

We also have two full time workers, John Hosker, our children and families worker and Darren Gerrish our youth worker.

Jon Hosker - Children and Families Worker

Jon Hosker

Our family moved to Waverton from Hull in 2007 when I began work as a youth worker at the church.  After a sabbatical in 2015, I changed roles and now work with children and families.  I am married to Rachel who is a health visitor and we have two daughters; Lucy who is currently studying ‘A’ levels and Bethan who is at university. My role at WEF is varied and this includes working in local schools, connecting with community groups, local families and children.  Outside of work I love playing the guitar, cycling, DIY and travelling to visit new places

Darren Gerrish - Youth Worker

Darren Gerrish

I have been in the Chester area for over 20 years and first moved up from the sunny south to attend Chester College in 1996. Other than a short period away I have been in the area ever since and am very much at home in Chester.  I am married to an amazing woman, Gemma and we have 3 wonderful daughters who bring us tons of joy as well as plenty of opportunity to grow in patience and grace! I believe God has called me to live a life out of experiencing God's delight in me and that I can live a life of delight in Him and that He calls me to make disciples wherever I go - I have a passion for people of all ages to see and experience something of the goodness, power and love of Jesus. I have been a member of WEF and the youth pastor since September 2015 and am so grateful to all those who pray and serve to support the youth work at WEF. I also enjoy sports (much more watching than playing these days), walks, running, eating, playing the drums (just!), archery, waffles, drinking orange juice and dancing in the rain and making things up for 'other interests' in my bio.
